“Civil Rights” Law
What is commonly called “civil rights” law encompasses a body of state and federal constitutional provisions, legislation and judicial precedent affecting employment relationships, housing, public accommodations, the behavior of governmental officials, and more.
At Clausen & Severson, we focus on civil rights cases arising from Police Abuse and Illegal Discrimination directed at patrons of public and private facilities (for example, restaurants, hotels, and other retail establishments, pools etc.)
If you believe you have been the victim of POLICE ABUSE - illegal arrest or detention, illegal search and seizure, unnecessary force resulting in injury- or
ILLEGAL DISCRIMINATION in public or private accommodations, we will review your case at no charge.
If we conclude your case has merit and you retain us to pursue it, we charge a contingent fee, plus costs. If we decline to represent you because your claim involves an area of law with which we are not familiar, we will attempt to refer you to an attorney with the appropriate background.
